HOW IT WORKS
Build On Budget is a simple computer programme designed to help small builders control job costs. Here’s how it works:
- A clear breakdown of your job costs
BOB splits the main costs of your building project into two sections: Materials and Labour.
Underneath each heading is the normal breakdown of job costs. For example, Preliminary & General, Reinforcing, Concrete and Framing, as well as sub contractor services like Plumbing, Drainage and Electrical.
These job costs are called allocations, and each one has its own individual budget that you can monitor and control.
- An accurate forecast of your profit and loss
By allocating your costs, BOB shows you where your job is making a profit or a loss. This allows you to take action early on – to minimise loss or to make the most of a profit opportunity.
- A better client relationship
BOB takes the guesswork out of a building project, which means you can forecast the estimated cost at completion well before the job is finished. This helps you keep your client informed and avoid disagreements over unexpected costs.
- All your data in one place
By recording all your project costs in one place, BOB can also help you calculate progress claims, final accounts and labour performance rates.
